Another dr. visit is over. Blood pressure is still somewhat elevated and more proteins are spilling. These are two signs of pre-eclampsia. However, when I take my blood pressure at home, it is in the normal range. But once I get to the doctor's office, it goes up because I get really anxious about talking to the doctor.
The dr. offered to induce tomorrow. I refused. I don't think he was too happy because now he has to see me on Friday. And well...since he is retiring from obstetrics, he no longer works on Friday.
He said that in all of his 25 years he has never seen a patient that isn't dying to get that baby out. I told him that he doesn't understand my irrational fear of needles. He said that being afraid of needles wasn't irrational. To quote Bugs Bunny, "He don't know me very well, do he?" I told him that mine was very irrational, and if I never had this baby that I would be happy :)
I am 3 PLUS cms dilated and about 75% effaced. The doctor said that he hated to tell me this, but I was going to have a baby real soon. Stay tuned...

Ellie, Ellie, in Carmen's bellie,
Come on out and watch the telly.
We're can't wait to see the day,
When you come right out to play.
Move your bottom and take a peep,
So your daddy can rock you to sleep.
Jason, Jason, Hello Dad,
Here's a mess in my pad.
Change me now without delay,
or with your nights of sleep you will pay.
We can't wait for her to come,
so you too will have tons of fun.
And other favorites like...
Carmen, Carmen, give it a rest,
needles really do work the best.
But since its the "experience" that you desire,
Ellie will probably arrive like a ball of fire.
Finally you've made it all the way,
Maybe today is Ellie's Birthday.
