I've got rhythm, I've got music, I've got my gal, who could ask for anything more?

If this isn't the cutest thing...

Who said there was nothing to do on a Saturday night?

World Wide Webb Tour

I asked Brandon what he planned to do this summer. His answer? "Change diapers."

So, we took pity on this once jet-setting couple and decided to give them a virtual world tour vacation package.

Enjoy.

News from the Homefront

About 8:30 am on Friday, the doctor came in and released me from the hospital. The pediatrician came in and checked Ellie. I signed all the necessary paperwork, and Jason packed up the car. We made it home from the hospital around 11:00 am. More later...

It's Jason's fault...

Women whose pregnancies seem to be going on forever now know who to blame - the father. Researchers suggest a father's genes appear to play a major part in deciding the timing of the birth, and the chance of having a 'prolonged pregnancy'. Research from Denmark shows that a father's "faulty" genes can increase the risk of a lengthy pregnancy by 30 percent. And I know of no one more faultier :)

Nope...

no baby :) She is in no hurry...

Better blow some labor dust this way :)

Dr. appt. went well. My blood pressure was more normal and they only detected trace amounts of protein. Still 3 plus cms dilated. So...we are in the wait and see mode.

I Just Had To Share This...

Carmen just finished relating the whole encounter with the Doc today, and I just had to share this...

I laughed so hard when she told me that the Dr. had never had a patient in 25 years who wasn't anxious to get the kid out. Carmen went on to say that he said, "Oh yeah, you're teachers so you don't get too misty eyed about kids." Carmen replied, "Yeah, we joke at school that teaching is the best form of birth control."

So now we know why we haven't had one at least in the last 8 years. :)

And guess what...her fortune from dinner tonight said this: "Today, your mouth might be moving, but no one is listening." She said that this was how she felt all day, especially at the doctor's office. Hahaha...

Capitulation is "almost" at hand...

Another dr. visit is over. Blood pressure is still somewhat elevated and more proteins are spilling. These are two signs of pre-eclampsia. However, when I take my blood pressure at home, it is in the normal range. But once I get to the doctor's office, it goes up because I get really anxious about talking to the doctor.

The dr. offered to induce tomorrow. I refused. I don't think he was too happy because now he has to see me on Friday. And well...since he is retiring from obstetrics, he no longer works on Friday.

He said that in all of his 25 years he has never seen a patient that isn't dying to get that baby out. I told him that he doesn't understand my irrational fear of needles. He said that being afraid of needles wasn't irrational. To quote Bugs Bunny, "He don't know me very well, do he?" I told him that mine was very irrational, and if I never had this baby that I would be happy :)

I am 3 PLUS cms dilated and about 75% effaced. The doctor said that he hated to tell me this, but I was going to have a baby real soon. Stay tuned...

Another day...another dollar...

Well...I fought the DRagon one last time yesterday. The doctor's ready, but I'm not. My blood pressure was elevated, and there were some proteins in the urine. Uh Oh...this was not great news. However, I told him that I needed to go to work a few more days to get my life right :) He reminded me that I have 21 more years at work to get it right. Blah...

Jason is ready as well...he isn't getting much sleep because I'm not getting much sleep :) He said that he was going to talk me into an induction if he has another night like last night...hehehe.

I am still measuring 3 cms, but he said that the baby has moved down more. Actually, the measuring was less painful than on last Wednesday.

I have another appt. Wednesday morning.

No Needles...Won't Need 'Em

Another appt. today. Everything is well...blood pressure, heartbeat, no contractions, 3 cms dilated. Again, I suffered for 30 minutes on the exam table during the NST...it's a back killer.

The doctor wanted to know our schedule...um...I told him that we were waiting for this to progress naturally and that I didn't want an epidural. He said that if I wanted to suffer for a while he would let me. :) Come on pain...bring it on! He said even with balls, massages, incense and incantations that it will still hurt. Duh!

Here's how I plan to get through it. Hehehe...click on the picture and read the small print.

My next appt. is Monday.
