Finally ! ! !: May 2007

Late Monday afternoon (May 14), I went to my regular OBGYN to give a urine sample. I explained to the nurse about the three other HPTs I had done.
After several minutes, she came back in and said that theirs showed positive too :)
I filled out a lot of paperwork, and then we went to the ultrasound (u/s) room for the first u/s.
We couldn't see much on the u/s machine. The doctor said he could see a small darkening area that represented the beginning stages of a baby. We did not get a copy of the u/s.
I went back a week later for u/s 2. See the image above.

I really wanted to use the test Sunday night, but I decided to wait until Monday morning.

Now remember, I had an appointment scheduled for Monday with Memphis Fertility Associates. This appointment was going to cost us ~$350.

So, Monday morning dawned and I pulled out my really expensive digital HPT. There would be no guessing...it would either say PREGNANT or NOT PREGNANT.

I called MFA and decided to cancel my appointment. I called my regular OBGYN to see if could come in Monday afternoon to take a pregnancy test in the office. They said that was OK.

On Friday, April 11, 2007, I used several of the HPTs. Each time, it came back with a very, very faint positive line after several long minutes.

So, I had one "expensive" HPT that I used Saturday morning. Well, it also came back with a very faint positive line.

Guess what???? Later Saturday, Brandon (my brother) calls and says that he and Stephanie are pregnant. We were excited for them and not really thinking about the cheap, crappy HPTs that I had already used. You know...the lines were so light and they didn't show up immediately. It was like 5 minutes later, and the instructions say to disregard the results after that long. At least, that is what I kept telling myself.

And then on Sunday, May 13, 2007, they called and surprised everyone with their news on Mother's Day :)

On April 1, 2007, I had another spontaneous cycle and took the third round of 200 mg Clomid. I had blood drawn on day 23 (April 23), and the results stated that ovulation did not occur.

However, I must have ovulated a few days later. But I didn't know this at the time :)

After the blood results came back negative, I decided that it was time to see if I could get an appointment with Memphis Fertility Associates. Although my regular OBGYN had prescribed 6 months of Clomid, I had already taken three months of it, and the blood results kept showing that ovulation was not occurring.

Now, I was still temping during this time, and my temperature never dropped to signal the start of another cycle or to even dip back down to a normal range. A consistent temperature rise indicates pregnancy.

And since I had a "supply" of cheap Dollar Store home pregnancy tests (HPT), I finally decided to pee on a stick (POAS).

In November 2006, I started taking daily doses of Metformin (1000mg). This was to help with the PCOS issues. I triggered my cycle with Prometrium. No ovulation...
In early December, I had another's doctor's appointment, and he prescribed 6 months of 200 mg Clomid. This is the maximum dosage that OBGYNs will prescribe to a patient.
In December 2006, I had a spontaneous cycle with consistent use of Metformin. I took the first round of 200 mg of Clomid during this cycle. No ovulation...
In February 2007, I triggered my cycle with Prometrium and took the second round of 200 mg round of Clomid. No ovulation...
