We had an ultrasound appointment on December 29th just to make sure that everything was OK. This was with the same specialist that I went to see when I was pregnant with Bailey. They complete a very thorough level II ultrasound. Everything looked good and the numbers from the AFP bloodwork that I had done on 12/21 suggested that everything was fine as well. And since I am not a big fan of BIG needles, we declined the amnio.
At almost 18 weeks, the baby weighed about 8 oz. and the technician very clearly told us that this baby was a GIRL! The pictures from the ultrasound were not that great, but the images we saw on the big screen TV in the exam room were awesome. The print-out of the "parts" was really crappy, so I didn't even scan it because it is basically all black. Since she was still really little, the technician was unable to completely see all of the heart stuff. So...I get to go back on January 20th for another peek.
